Fort Robinson, near Chadron, Nebraska This Rural Initiative Directory is a searchable database containing hundreds of web sites of programs, organizations, agencies and businesses that stabilize and enhance the economy and quality of life in non-metropolitan Nebraska. Outreach activities of all four campuses of the University of Nebraska are included, along with state of Nebraska, regional, and federal programs. Programs of Nebraska not-for-profits, community colleges and private higher education institutions are also described. Agricultural and ecological programs are listed, as are business, industry, community, family, tourism and culture/diversity organizations. The Rural Initiative strives to include in this database any entity which touches the lives of rural Nebraskans.
